About Hammarviken
A journey of entrepreneurship and passion
Hammarviken was founded by the couple Mona and Mats Rydhede in 2004. Mats has extensive experience in running and developing companies and began his entrepreneurial journey back in the 1980s. His genuine interest in starting and developing companies has always been significant, something that is also reflected in today's operations.
The idea behind the formation of Hammarviken in the early 2000s was to consolidate their then few companies and properties into one single group. In the mid-2010s, their children Josefin and Christoffer became co-owners of the company, and since then, the family has been running Hammarviken together. Over time, our company holdings and property portfolio have grown, and there is a strong interest in continuing to develop both the parent company as well as the entire Hammarviken group.
With a property acquisition comes a new era
In 2021, we purchased a listed building from 1917 in the Lorensberg district in central Gothenburg. Previously, we had our headquarters in industrial areas outside Gothenburg's city center, but we then chose to renovate the property to be able to move our operations into the city. After an almost two-year-long and extensive renovation, we were in March 2023 able to open the doors to our new office above the scenic area known as Näckrosdammen – a short walk from Avenyn.
A combination of tradition and innovation
The house, with over 2000 sqm, houses not only Hammarviken's headquarters but also our wholly owned subsidiary Yuncture's operations. In shared premises with Hammarviken, you will find Yuncture's incubator where young entrepreneurs receive advice and office space completely free of charge for five months. The remaining floors in the building are occupied by Yuncture House, a more modern and personal form of co-working where everyone feels like each other's colleagues.
Our vision for the house is to "Combine tradition with innovation.". From something old and historical, we can together create something new and innovative if we dare to think outside the box. That is how we want to run our operations, and the house on Lennart Torstenssonsgatan gives us the space to realize our own and others' entrepreneurial dreams.
