Hammarviken Becomes Majority Owner of Garden Glory – Moving Forward with the Founder

After a period of financial challenges, Garden Glory filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. Now, Hammarviken and the brand’s founder are acquiring the assets from the bankruptcy estate. With founder Linda Brattlöf still at the helm, a new chapter awaits – with a focus on elevating the brand, scaling the business, and building for long-term growth.

Garden Glory was founded in 2012 with a clear idea – to turn the garden’s most overlooked details into design objects. It all started with a white garden hose, a protest against the traditional, dull alternatives. Since then, the brand has grown into an international design label with a loyal following and a style-conscious customer base.

“We’ve followed Linda and Garden Glory from a distance for several years. There’s a clear gap in the market that they’ve successfully filled with a strong, personal, and playful brand. When the opportunity arose, we quickly saw how we could contribute with structure, long-term thinking, and organization,” says Johan Berggren, Investment Manager for Turnaround at Hammarviken.

Garden Glory’s products have previously been featured in everything from design magazines to the Barbie movie, with customers including high-profile names like the Kardashian family. At the same time, the company has faced a tough journey in recent years, with too much capital tied up in inventory spread across continents and a weakening global market, making the cost structure unsustainable.

“I’m not done with Garden Glory. This is an idea I’m passionate about, and a brand that still has so much more to give. It feels fantastic to now embark on this journey together with Hammarviken. We share the same vision and complement each other well,” says Linda Brattlöf, founder and CEO of Garden Glory.

The current focus is on stabilizing the business, strengthening liquidity, and developing a new business plan – with the goal of building profitable growth without compromising the brand’s unique identity and high design ambitions.
