Hammarviken Arena – new artificial turf pitch strengthens ÖIS operations
After many years of close collaboration between Hammarviken and Örgryte IS, a brand-new artificial turf pitch is now complete at the ÖIS training grounds. The investment, which includes Hammarviken becoming both a partner and the naming sponsor of the pitch, creates entirely new opportunities for both the youth and senior operations going forward.
For ÖIS, the new pitch marks an important step in the development of the club’s operations.
“It means a great deal. It allows us to bring the entire club together in one place. Previously, we’ve been very spread out, especially our women’s teams. Now we can bring our women’s teams home, while also expanding our youth operations so that even more ÖIS players can enjoy football,”
says Jozo Matovac, Chief Operating Officer at ÖIS.
The partnership between Hammarviken and ÖIS has been ongoing for many years and is built on a shared commitment to creating positive environments for children and young people.
“It feels very good and reassuring. Hammarviken has been a partner to ÖIS for many years and together we’ve achieved great things, especially for our youth. That’s why it feels incredibly rewarding to continue the fantastic collaboration we’ve had for so long,” continues Jozo Matovac.
Being part of this development is a natural step for Hammarviken, says Josefin Rydhede, Communications Manager:
“It means a lot to us to continue contributing to such a significant investment for the entire ÖIS training ground and the club as a whole. Not least for all the children and young people who will have better conditions to play football on the new pitch. We’re really looking forward to following this!”
Hammarviken Arena is now complete and will be an important part of ÖIS-gården moving forward. For us, this investment is a testament to a long-term partnership and a shared ambition to strengthen environments for children and youth in Gothenburg.
